Famed restauranteur Tom Uljaj 's Villa d'Aqua exceeds anything he has done. This charming Bellmore waterfront restaurant presents the highest quality food in generous portions with elegant service. Salads are delicious and big enough to share. The Bronzino is the best we ever tasted. Tom greets regular guests as family, with sincere European charm, and, after one visit, everyone is a regular. We were seated outside, and were immediately offered a trio of spreads for the delicious home made bread which came warm and toasty, straight from the oven. Glasses of the excellent house wines were generous pours. Appetizers mostly ranged in price from $7.95 to $10.95, and included Asparagus Milanese topped with parmigiano, clams oreganatte and portobello pizzette. Antipasto for two ($17.95) and insalata di mare ($14.95) are offered for two, but come in a portion that easily would satisfy four. Specials last night included a huge portion of mussels, a mesclun salad with triple goat cheese and oranges, and an unusual endive salad for one which fed our entire table. Pasta special was cavatelli with filet mignon and shrimp - sensational! We have been going there since Villa d'Aqua opened, and it keeps on getting better. A terrific restaurant!
